Following the global merger of two large banks with presence in the Greek market, KN Group was awarded part of the integration project taking responsibility for proposing and executing the workplace strategy, office reconfiguration and refurbishment that ensured a smooth transition of the two teams into their designated office of Royal Bank of Scotland at Akti Miaouli in Piraeus.
Various aspects made this project particularly demanding: firstly it was critical that KN Group supported a phased approach preparing and moving teams into their space on a rolling basis to minimize any disruption of the bank’s critical daily operations. Secondly client timelines and financial budget requirements were tight, requesting to re-use/re-purpose as much as possible of the existing office equipment and house the teams of two previously separate banks into the existing office space of the buyer. Thirdly, security and health & safety requirements had to be met, including the need to introduce a new ground security entrance door and handle all necessary procedures to obtain the renewal of the fire proof certificate for the Akti Miaouli office which was a listed building.
KN Group mobilized its multi-disciplinary teams in order to handle and execute flawlessly all aspects of this project. For example:
KN Group proposed and designed a new office configuration with partitions to maximise the use of the existing space, re-designed and refurbished all electrical installations, including the re-distribution of loads, construction and recommissioning of PDUs and the installation of a trend monitoring unit connecting the local Greek branch with its regional Bureau Office in London to provide 24x7 monitoring coverage of its critical M&E systems.
Delivered an engineering study and carried out an inspection of the listed building – critical steps that were presented to regulatory authorities in order to secure successfully and in a timely fashion the fire proof certificate.
With its solid expertise in managing every aspect of a project with meticulous attention to details, KN Group also succeeded the final outcome to be on time and within budget.
